What can I do to break a weight loss plateau

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering what is the best way to get my weight loss going again. I've been stuck at the same weight for slightly over 2 weeks even though I have pretty good restriction right now. My eating habits have not changed (I promise!), I eat somewhere between 900-1100 calories a day. I'm satisfied with small protions so thats not the problem right now.....I've just quit losing. Any help with getting through this plateau would be greatly appreciated.

many people experience the plateau's, some add more exercise, some do a few days of Liquid Protein, both of these should jump start you losing again. I exercise an 1hr. In the morn. Every morn, and have the last 2 wks added a walk at night for 1 hr. 3 times a week. And have been stalled in my weight loss. Not sure if i am building muscle or what, it does become a pain, when you feel you are doing everything right. I am about 16 pounds till goal and it seems to be stuck. Hang in there. It will come off. Just don't give up and eat what we are not suppose to... You've had a good weight loss, maybe your body is resting... Judy

I would try a few days of 100-250 more calories per day to see what it does. I had my last 2lbs to lose b/4 I hit goal and the scale would not move. I bumped up my caloric intake and that did it. Try putting some Fiber One in your food plan for your Snacks.< /p>

Thanks for the replies! I will try both suggestions and see what happens. I just joined a gym today and will be starting in the morning....I sure hope it helps cuz I'm felling a bit frustrated at this stall.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
