I drink my required 60+ ounces of Water a day but I always feel thirsty. I mean REALLY thirsty. What gives? Does anyine else have this problem?

Are you diabetic? Do you know? That is a big sign for diabetes. Did you go off your meds after surgery? Have you checked your blood sugar levels lately?

I agree. Unless you are an athlete or do something (work in heat) that causes you to sweat excessively, 60+ ounces of Water should do it for you. Please get your blood sugar checked and tell your primary doctor about your symptoms...ASAP! That thirst is a sign that you need to do something quickly.

I've not experienced the "very thirsty" feeling. Like the others' said that is a sign your body is trying to flush out sugars.

I do, however, drink lots of Water every day. Up to 40oz while working out and up to another gallon throughout the day. Plus coffee/tea. In addition to fighting fatigue, this helps your body flush out wastes and keep your metabolism up. Keeps me from retaining Water from salt too.

I walk about a mile and a half to two miles a day or I am in the gym weight training. Could this be part of the reason? I have recently had my blood work done and I do not have diabetes. I will call my doctor anyway and ask the question.

I haven't been banded yet. But about 4 years ago - during my last attempt to lose weight, I was drinking 80 to 96 oz of Water daily. I was constantly getting up from my desk at work or out of bed during the night to use the bathroom since I was drinking so much. During this time I was also constantly thirsty! I too am not diabetic and I'm not a doctor, but I always thought the reason why I was so thirsty was because as I was constantly flushing out my system, my body was needing more Water.

I must say that during this time my weight loss was very steady. I should start it up again but I dread the constant trips to the bathroom! lol!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
