I have had the burning sensation by the port. I still get twinges here and there also. I don't know if the seasons make a difference with the band, but I do know that it is very tempermental. I tend to get really tight after exercise. Many people are tight in the morning, and you are doing exactly what they recommend, drinking warm liquids. Good Luck with your band!

I had some miniscule, non-specific aches and pains for the firt couple of months, but everything is fine now.

Tightness in the mornings is there when I have good restriction and drinking something warm helps (drinking something cold has the opposite effect). If you still have a little stomach swelling from surgery or are reaching your sweet spot for restriction, this is not uncommon.

i think im running into this, but its very painful like some one kicked me in the ribs. i was thinking maybe i had torn some sutures where the port is attached to muscle. or maybe just pulled some muscle. i'm calling the doc 2morrow to ask. its been like 2 days now.

mine and my wifes ports are close to or under the largest scare in the center of our abdomen......We go to gym almost daily and have not had any port problems, we are 6 and 7 weeks post-op.

I'm three weeks post-op and I'm having wierd pains in my left lower abdomen, not near my port, but around one of the incision sites. At first I thought it was just gas or Constipation, but I'm fairly certain that it's not. Sounds like others are having similar pain, so I feel a little better about it.

I am not sure about weather changes as I am too newly banded, but I notice a big difference in the morning with tighter restriction.

I get a pain in back like someone has a grip on my spine and then severe stomach pain just under my ribs like someone has thier hands under there sqeezing. Does anyone know what this could be? My dr told me he doesn't think it has to do with the band but I have never had this since being banded.

I logged on to ask about this. Sharp pain just above the scar where the port is, sometimes further to the right by my rib. I've been really good about following the doc's orders, even on Thanksgiving. I'm going to try the warm liquid and hold off calling the dr for a couple more days. I thought I'd pulled something. Also, I have what appears to be the end of suture sticking out by where the port is. Anyone else have that? Think I can just clip it off?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
