Anyone hungry????

Recommended Posts

First I want to say that I don't like the layout of this page!!! It is too hard to find anything now!!!

Now, I was just wondering if anyone is hungry while they are on stage 2? I had my band done on Oct. 30th. When I went for my one week check up my Dr asked me if I was hungry and I told him yes, then he asked me if it was just head hunger....hello? I am sure that he is eating more than 2 medicine cups full at a time! I feel as if my stomach is sucking on my backbone! I don't get my first fill until the 11th of Dec. I don't know how much more I can take! I hate this because I have 2 children and a husband that eat food, real food, 3 times a day. It is pure torture! I can't eat mushie foods until next Tuesday! I was just wondering if anyone else out there was feeling my pain?

I am truly feeling your pain. What I had to do is prepare supper and serve it, then leave the area until everyone was done. I know that seems wrong not to be at the table with the family, but it was only for a short time. Then when they were finished I would come out and immediately shove everything not eaten down the garbage disposal. No temptation. This is how I got through it. I'm sure there are better solutions, I just didn't come up with it. Now, I can happily say I eat all meals with the family again with no problem. Remember, you have nothing in your band yet, you are definately going to be hungry. You have came this far, YOU CAN DO IT! Good Luck!

I'm feeling like a bottom-less pit today! I'm on mushies but feel like I've been eating off and on all day. I finally made some tuna salad and have been chewing really well (it's on my approved list)... I'm hoping the meat will help satisfy me. I'm trying to decide if it's real hunger or boredom/head hunger?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
