My band works!

Recommended Posts

so i'm down 40+ lbs since i started with pre op, which is about 30 since having the band..

seeing the scale say 240-anything...just blew me away, its been since early 2007 the last time i saw that number.

now when i was going up i thought i was going to cry at 248....but gosh on the way back down 248 never looked so good!

i tried over and over to lose weight (story of our lives) and a few times before i had lap band surgery i got to 250.0 and could never break into the 240's

249.8 was just the magic number for me, to let me know that my band is making a difference, and OH MY i did it, (ok me and the band did it)

just had to share, i'm so excited!!! i feel like if i can get to the 240's (which i tried sooooooooooo hard to do this year and couldn't) then there is NO reason that i can't meet goal...i don't think i've been this excited since the day i scheduled my surgery!

thanks for listening

good luck to all!

Sasha~ I am right there with you! I wanted to shout from the rooftop last week when I saw 249. I honestly have no idea when I weighed this last?

Maybe back in 2001 when I got married? I had some short lived weight loss due to stress and IBS....but after the ceremony it returned and then some (as usual).

Have you been measuring as well?? I love seeing the inches go down, down, down!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
