Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and the process. I started my journy in July with my first weight loss consultation at True Results. I have received my Approval and got to meet my wonderful doctor this morning. His name is Dr. Fox out of Dallas, Texas. I am waiting on his office to call and tell me the time of surgery and when to be at the hospital. It all went so slow at first and now it all seems to be going to fast. But, I am so ready to begin my new journey with my new tool.

Hey Missy, Congrats girl. I was banded on September 8th and it was the best choice that I've ever made. I've lost 41 lbs. and I am sooooo happy to finally have a chance to get this weight off and keep it off.

Congrats again:thumbup:

Congrats. I just found out yesterday that my insurance co. reversed my denial and I can have the lap band. So now I am excited and nervous at the same time. My surgery is scheduled for December 15....

congrats to both of you. I'm set for banding on 11/6 and am excited. I've done every diet known to man or woman, and lost weight on most and gained all back and more on each, so I'm really excited about my new life. It's great to hear the sucess stories

Congrats! I'm waiting on my approval, should know in the next couple of days. I'm scared they'll say no, but hopeful they say yes!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
