protein bullets

Recommended Posts

thanks for your reply. I know every clinic is different in their likes and dislikes. I just hate it when I don't know if it is truly something the surgeon discourages (I don't get to talk to him - haven't seen or talked to him in 1 1/2 years-since surgery)or if it's something the dietician doesn't like. I know they don't want you getting your entire daily Protein from these; they'd rather you get it from solid food; however, that doesn't always happen. Do you use them every day, or just occassionally? Where do you get yours? thanks

Bullets are 3oz of concentrated Protein drink. for those of us that don't care to drink a big glass of nasy milk shake, the bullets are perfect.

I get NewWhey from GNC if I have to buy them locally otherwise I prefer to buy them on line.

I haven't noticed any adverse reactions to them. I don't take them every day, but I probably should. I like to drink one first thing in the morning before going to the gym.

I asked my nutritionist about them and she said the problem is with the 40-something gram ones, not the 26 gram ones. Your body can only absorb about 30 grams of Protein at a time, so if you're using the 40+ gram ones, it's a waste. I'm going to buy a flat of them soon.

My nut also doesn't like me using them. I only use them when I know I haven't gotten enough Protein in a day. Usually 2-3 times a week. I just can't eat that much food. I do buy the 42g of whey protein bullets and only drink 1/2 and put the other 1/2 of it in the fridge. It's more economical to do it that way. That way it's only one swig at a time. I get the fruit punch flavored ones from GNC online.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
