Just banded by Dr. Jose Rodriguez

Recommended Posts

This is my first time posting. I have read many posts before my surgery and have to say I was so nervous to go to Mexico and after reading some posts I was even more nervous. I want to say my experience with Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Juarez Mexico was outstanding. I went through Belite and worked with a facilitator named Jessica. (Again, nervous about that because of all the negative posts about patient facilitators and belite) All I can say is that she was very professional and I can honestly say it was only because of her and her information that I went through with my surgery. Jessica answered all of my questions, got me in touch with other people in my state whom she had scheduled that I could talk to and pretty much held my hand the entire time. I also was worried about the hospital conditions in Juarez. Honestly the new hospital far exceeded my expectations. I had better healthcare in Mexico than I have ever had here in the United States. I myself am in the healthcare field and could not help question my decision of going to Mexico for surgery of all things. Overall, from the doctor, staff, hospital and Jessica my entire experience was AWESOME! Please do your research and don't listen to all the negative some people are posting. It is a real shame because honestly I almost did not go thru with it after reading some people's posts but I am thankful I did. I think you need to pay attention to the people who are only posting negatives and question them as to why. Why do you say that and why are you bashing doctors, staff and companies. I am not crazy... I know maybe some people may really not have had the greatest experience like I did but seriously I really don't see how. I was there with a few other people from the U.S. also having their surgery the same day and each of us were so incredibly thrilled with everything. I mean even the driver was amazing!!!!

Dr. Rod and Jessica from beliteweight I want to sincerely thank you for changing my life. You will never know what you have done for me!

If anyone else is concerned about Dr. Jose Rodriguez please call Jessica I know she can help you and help answer your questions. Her phone number is 503-539-3023 and her email is jessica@beliteweight.com

Thanks for listening and thanks for those of you on this site that are just here to let others bounce ideas of eachother and keep an open mind and are honest!

Jessica is pretty non-responsive. Won't use him if I have to go through her. Anyone else that I can go to directly in his office????

I was banded on the 24th, had a great experience with both Dr. Rod, and Jessica, who was also my facilitator. She was really quick at getting back to me. I would give her a little grace--remember how many patients she deals with on a daily basis! Also, Joann,(sp?), the owner of Belite was there at the hospital when I got my band, and she told me to call her office anytime. There is always someone there who can talk to you--they have all had the band/surgery as well and can answer questions. :)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
