My doctor basically said the same thing. He used an M&M as his example. I haven't had problems with any pills so far. I have to take pills everyday.

Nayray, I am 2 weeks out and take 15 pills a day. We should always listen to our docs, but it is hard when there are so many different patient management theories out there.

My office says 3 weeks. That said, I took my pain pill for my back 10 days post op, but it's the size of a birth control pill. They said it was ok.

I can take most any pill now. I was so scared of it in the beginning.

MY biggest concern is toradol is a NSAID. We're supposed to stay away from them. Please be careful!

I've been very concerned about the daily pills I take when I'm banded. It is nice to hear that I don't have to hunt for liquid supplements and pills.< /p>

My biggest pills are of course my multi Vitamin and evening primrose oil.

I just had a fill and was told to crush my pills again. I believe in a couple weeks I may be able to take pills again, but I also worry about them getting stuck.

Crushing, you cannot crush certain pills - ask your pharmacist, is a good alternative. I was mixing them in baby food, but now I just take them with flavored drink. Tonight it was my protien drink, chocolate makes everything taste better.

Anyway, in this area, your Dr is the best resource. Listen to what they say, and if in doubt and it is okay to do so, crush them. You can never go wrong with smaller sized pieces.

My doctor said that they HAD used only liquid pain meds and nausea meds, but that they switched to pills when they found that most people could manage them just fine. He had me switch to a chewable Vitamin, but I continue to take all my other pills. One of my capsules is kind of big, and if I feel it get stuck, I just have a hot tea or cocoa...and it melts.

I know that doctors are the best source for info, but don't let anyone scare you. If something concerns you alot, research it in whatever way you can. Try to find out about all sides of an issue. Knowledge is power!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
