Good morning all!!

I have since had to change directions, and am now looking for a doctor near the Odessa/Midland, Tx area. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone in Lubbock, Abilene or even San Angelo. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

I live in Lubbock but could not find a doctor here to do it because they said my bmi was too low. I ended up going to Dr. Seger at New Dimensions Weight Loss in San Antonio...which I'd highly recommend but it is a little far. I know Dr. David Hall here in Lubbock has been advertising on tv a lot for the Lap Band procedure.

Hope that helps!

That does help, thank you!!

I was actually scheduled to meet with Dr. Smith in Ft. Worth, but after taking an un-paid day off from work yesterday, driving all the way there, just to have them cancel my appointment...I decided that maybe I should find someone closer, especially with having to go back for fills and such. But thank you!!

There are 2 in Abilene that I know of, Dr Einspanier and Dr Frazee. I called Dr Einspanier's office and asked how many lapband surgeries he had performed and was told well over 100. I couldn't find much information on either doctor but there are some reviews on them at ObesityHelp.com.

Thanks Karen, I appreciate your reply. I actually found a doctor in Lubbock, Dr. David Hall. He only performs weight loss surgeries and has done well over 5000. I read the reviews on him on ObesityHelp and he seems to be pretty well-liked. :D

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
