Weight Watchers Points Program

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone figured out how to utilize the points program with the band....how many points to obtain the 1200 calorie intake? I've been trying to figure it out on my own and it comes out to be about 60 calories per point? Anyone else try to figure this out. I just found doing it the Weight Watchers way, it was easier to count points as opposed to calories, and I have alot of resources to help out.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Near enough will be good enough. I think I figured out it was about 60to 70 calories per point once too.

Really, you should be able to go by the recommended amount of points for your weight, you dont have to convert. Calorie recommendations are only a guide, as are points. Obviously if you dont lose on say 20 points a day you would have to drop, but personally I could always lose on about 25 points, despite not being "heavy enough" to eat that many.

Just follow the program if you want to do it. You dont have to convert it back and forth. The lapband will simply help you do it and not be so hungry.

Thank you so much for the confirmation...I just needed some re-assurance which you were so kind to pass on.

At my current weight I would have to take in 30 points a day, and I know that so wouldn't happen with the band. Like you, I think I'll start off at 25 and then work my way down from there.

Thank you, again...

Bella

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
