Nervous and Excited!!

Recommended Posts

I know you will be excited! I still can't believe I have my date. They scheduled it with me and then contacted my insurance company for approval. They got it the next day! I didn't think they would have a problem but I didn't think it would be approved so quickly! The journey continues!!!

I think some places just have better trained nurses. I'm going to nursing school right now (to get my BSN) and we're taught No fake nails, no polish, and no deodorant in the OR.

the banding was 5 days ago and today i feel great. I have been walking every day but today it wasn't a chore to do it. I even helped my husband hang some siding!!

Found that the shakes arent my favorite but muscle milk makes some that have enough Protein in one shake for the day. That is easy to do.

I have developed a cough which doesnt feel good on my abdomen but other wise i feel pretty good.

Xraigal, Welcome to Bandland. Becareful about your activities for now. Your port needs time to scar in place. (Kinda grow to the spot it was put on).For your band, much less chance of slippage if you let it get seated in place. The tissue they stitch it too is fragile. You have done so well, don't want to rock the boat now. Take care.

Hello Everyone!

Xraigal: I hope you are feeling well today!

Sugarbear: Welcome! Sounds like you are doing greyt!!! How long ago did you have your surgery?

Purplerose: October 3 will be here before you know it. Are you on a liquid diet this week before surgery? That's what I have to do. My surgery is Nov. 10 and I can't wait. Good Luck! Let us know how you are doing!!!

It sure feels like time is going sooo slow!

They have me on

Meal 1 - 1 fruit and a yogurt

Meal 2 - Protein shake

Meal 3 - 4-6 ounces of lean meat & 1 serving of a green Veg.

Meal 4 - if needed - another protein shake

Its crazy.... it sounds like a lot, but compared to what I am used to eating its not.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
