I went in for my pre-op today and everything was fine till he listened to my lungs. Over the past week I have been coughing alot but felt ok. He said when he heard me exhale that in my lungs it sounded like a flutter.

They sent me right over to the hospital and I had a chest xray done again. They will have the results sent to the Dr by 10am. I am a bit anxious and upset cause I have worked this hard that I dont want anything to be wrong.

Has anyone else had this type of thing happen?

Yes I found the new office quickly and it was much nicer than the old one. Everything was quick, precise and to the point. the only thing I thought I would have an issue with is the home injection but even that seems ok now.

they sent me over to the hospital to due the xray immediately but it could be anything from coughing I have been doing. I immediately went to Walmart and got mucinex DX to see if I cant break up whatever it is that is there.

Yeah the shot sounds kind of crazy, but I do not think it will be too bad.. At least it is not 3 times a day like it used to be ha ha.. Well I hope it is all good. Keep me posted

Thanks, I stopped at Walmart after surgeons and got my shakes, juice, etc. It was nice to hear that I can have a 3rd shake if necessary cause I will definitely need it.

It was also good to hear that we dont have to do Clear liquids that first week. Will be nice to have some variety.

Hello Pradice 73 and meschultz! Audrey here. I am also a patient of Dr Dietrick and you guys are the first of his patients I have seen on here - I am really glad to know I am not alone in my world. Dr Dietrick did my surgery at UCH on 09-03-08 and I had my 2 week post-op yesterday. I checked out 2 other Dr's and I really like him and his staff (especially Lynn, his nurse). The first week after surgery sucks, but it does get better by the end of the second week and I have lost 31 pounds since I started pre-op.

Wishing you both the best and I hope that you guys will keep me up to date on your progress!

Audrey in Auburndale Florida

P.S. I really like their new offices too!

Did you hear back on your chest X ray?? or :) .. i have my fingers crossed for u..

audreym Welcome to our little world ... ha ha I have seen very few patients of Dr. Dietricks on here, but I know there are a few of us.. My husband is on here too and he is having his surgery on the 24th and me on oct 1st.. I am looking very forward to it.. Congrats on your success .. I hope we all have the same.. My husband has lost 15 lbs since we started the whole process.. MEN they always loose weight so much quicker.. Anyways.. I am glad you are feeling better after your surgery. I have only get like 5 days before I have to go back to work after mine. I hope it will be enough time. I just have a desk job so I figure if I can sit and watch TV at home I should be ok to sit and type. They will just need to give me frequent breaks and let me take a nap or two ha ha.. Well talk to you soon.. keep chatting :thumbup::tongue2:

Thanks for the support. I had my first shake and took FOREVER to drink it. I would say 2 hours would cover it lol.. they said slow right :)

Since it is already 2pm I am doing ok.. I am sure day 2 will be harder. I have a pork chop with cottage cheese and Broccoli for my dinner later.

I have not heard anything about my x-ray as when I called them to change a future appt they had not received it. It is important that I make sure they get it today cause even though the Dr wont see it until tomorrow I dont want him to get it tomorrow.

Try not to sweat it, at my Pre Op the EKG showed I had a Heart Attack. Turns out they put the leads on wrong. The second EKG still showed a Heart problem, but nothing the band won't help. I had a MAJOR anxiety attack for nothing. And I was told, this is what they need to know, and it doesn't necessarly exclude you from surgery. They just need to be more careful. Good Luck Debbie

My only problem is I am short on time. I am scheduled for surgery on the 29th and my previous chest x-ray was fine. It was only because he heard something different with my lungs that he made me have a 2nd one.

The results should have been delivered today but claimed they didnt have them as of 12:30 pm. The Dr wont be even be in until tomorrow (thursday) so even if it was delivered later he wont be able to see them until then. I am just more anxious to have this all go right, especially since I am now on my liquid diet.

OK, so today is day 2 of my liquid diet. My first day went a little better than expected and I wasnt overly hungry. I am going to try and plan today to do what I did yesterday in hopes that it helps.

Hope everyone else is ok. I think it would be good if we started a Dr. Dietrick thread so we can keep in touch together and maybe find some others.

Hang in there - it does get better! Just enjoy these two weeks before the surgery and remind yourself that they are soooo much better than the two weeks after will be - just joking, but it's true!! I just kept telling myself that if I could survive being fat for so long, then I can survive being miserable for a few weeks!

You wil be very tempted to cheat during the next 4 weeks but remeber that your recovery will be so much harder for you if you do!

Best wishes and I will make a protien shake "toast" in your honor!

Audrey

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
