Why is it that the one day that you look and feel your absolute worse, that is the day that you see that FINE :tt1: specimen of a man that you used to date? I admit that I would never want a lifetime relationship with him, but OMG this man is awesome!:wink2: I was no where near my size now when we dated. I was petite with curves then. Now I am a cow with clothes. Such is the story of my life.

This is the case for so me too, except I don't care to see anyone that knew me "when". I don't care if I am dressed up or tore up from the floor up! But wait til I get my sexy back! I am gonna be all over the place!

Most of the people that knew me then, don't recognize me now. The people that know me now, have only known me fat. That is going to be odd since I will no longer be the FAT coworker or friend. I wonder how that is going to change things.

My friend told me that some people will not treat you the same after you lose the weight and won't be the fat friend anymore. She also told me that the ones that are not your true friends you might lose. I was like if they weren't my true friends, then i don't need them anyway. why would someone want you fat and unhealthy and not be happy for me when I'm doing better for myself. Don't worry about it...be strong and move on with the new sexier you:cool:

I've been told the same thing. I can only say it will be their loss. Not mine.

A girlfriend of mine lost 100 pounds. In the process she met a wonderful man and got married. I was ecstatic for her and was a bridesmaid. Another friend of hers (not of mine) TOTALLY ended all communication with her. That was nine years ago. They don't speak to this day. It reinforces the old adage that misery does love company. Once your not miserable anymore, those old miserable friends will drop by the wayside.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
