Hi there....

I am new to this website, it's great!! I have started researching WLS since February 2008. I finally have my first "intake" appointment in a couple weeks to start my journey towards the Lapband.

I am here to learn from others and hopefully make some friends along the way!!

Hey Razzy! Hey Becky!

It's me...the other LL Cool J Fan! Shout to Becky!

I thought you already had your surgery Becky. I had my surgery 8/4/08. So I'm a newbie. I've lost 12lbs since my surgery. I'm in the healing stage incisions have healed completely. i will have my first fill on 9/12/08. Can't wait because now I'm getting hungry but a half cup of food does fill me up. I don't have the craving to eat late at night anymore. If i drink to much Water too fast that fills me up as well. I hope i answer some questions but If you have an specific question please ask:wink_smile:

Hey,

No. My doctor didn't give me any medicine for my gall bladder, but I have read on other postings where people talk about having problems with their gall bladder or having to have gall bladder surgery. The only medicine my doctor prescribed was something that had me knock out like that!

Yes. Girl I'm digging his new cut I'm going to let LL get my "Head Sprung".:smile2:

Hi - I just found this sight and am really excited I did. I am having my lapband surgery on Aug 26 at the Richmond CA Kaiser. I started the process on May 9. I have lost 27 lbs since then. I just purchased my post surgery Clear liquids groceries and am starting to get a little nervous. My dad is going to drive me there on Tuesday morning and I will be going home that afternoon.

Thanks for your reply!

I had to attend 2 meetings in May and I have been waiting for my first appointment since then! So, I have not started anything yet. I hope to have my surgery within 6 months of my appointment on 09/10.

Good Luck to you with your upcoming surgery!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
