Administrator and Opinions sought - Front Page of LapBandTalk.com

Recommended Posts

I must say I am NO FAN of the new front page to this forum.

It takes me twice as long to find what I am looking for, it is full of rubbish I don't want to see and the actual content of what used to be this forum has been squeezed onto a small column to the right.

It just doesn't seem user friendly anymore. I believe it has lost its appeal by all this advertising/information. Can't we make a separate link for all of the info in the middle or is it completely necessary to have there?

Can one of the administrators help here?

Perhaps others have opinions that they wish to voice?

I like the current format. The latest threads, articles and blogs in the middle which I like because that is primarily what I am looking for. I like that you can also now see recent pictures posted on the front page a little to the right as well. Advertisements are on the very right which are easy to see but are not a burden in this format.

I also like this format. You can easily find the forum topics on the left and I like reading the current posts in 1 page. Before, you had to scroll down to find new posts and sometimes you missed them if they were embedded within a forum topic in the old format.

I have to say that I'm on the fence for this one. I love the new topics being in the middle and you can get to them easily. On the other hand there are a couple of threads that I visit regularly and in this format they are harder to find. But they are easier to find if you click on the LBT banner at the top and it takes you to the old "filing cabinet" format without the new stuff in the middle.

Maybe that's why they left it that way. When you come to LBT, click immediately on the banner with BBK standing there and you get it the old way. Hope this helps.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
