August band date

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am needing to pinch myself every once in a while. I am still in shock that I am really going to be doing this. I have looked into WLS for 8 years now. I was first looking at GB. Way before I had even heard of LB. I have a friend that had LB 3 years ago. SHe was really big. Now everytime I see her she has a smile on her face. I know how she feels. I don't even know that I am smiling and someone will say what so funny or why the smile...... I know that this is going to be life changing. I am already starting to exercise. We bought a Wii for he kids and I am using it. Ii have to say that it has been fun. We also bought the wii fit for me and that is fun also. It's not like exercise. It is really fun..... Just thought I would share....... Hugs T:biggrin:

I know how you feel. I still can't believe I am actually going to do this. I was smiling until I started my liquid diet. I am sooo hungry I can't sleep. We got the wii fit about a week ago and my family and I are having a great time with it. I think it's funny how the mii's are sized acording to your weight. I'm looking forward to having a skinny mii!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
