Back from first fill

Recommended Posts

I just got back from my FIRST fill this morning. I don't know what to expect and the nurse said that she does 5cc with the first fill for Realize band. She had me lay down shot of numb stuff and stick of the fill needle. Move to sitting position and she puts in full 5cc . Drink about 6-8 ounces of Water and asks how it feels, I think maybe it stuck, she pulls out .04cc and I can feel the the water shoot through. I was amazed. Drank water again felt full but not like first time. She then says I'm good to go. Lasted about 5 minutes total. So now I have 4.6 in the 10 realize band. I can't believe how quick and painless it was. Now I hope it works.. does this sound like the usual first fill ????

WOW, your fill doctor was agressive compared to mine. I started at 2.5, then only was allowed .5 at a time.. I didn't have any restriction until 4.5 cc. (I have a 10 cc band also) I've been at 4.5 for 2 months and don't have as much restriction so I need to get my booty in and get a fill !!

You will have restriction from the beginning and will lose weight immediately! right on.. good 4 u

best of luck!!!

My first fill was done under fluroscopy standing up (3.5cc). They filled me up to 7cc, which completely occluded me, then had me drink until I felt the Fluid go through (at 3.5cc). My second fill was in the office and was 1.5cc (using the protocol you described) which makes a total of 5cc in my band. Both were painless and brief.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
