Hi. Have you tried Dr. Edward Felix in Freso? He also has an associate but I can't think of his name of hand or locate the info right how. My friend has gastric bypass done by him and said he's an excellent doctor.

I was banded in Mexico on 6-5-08.I live in Virginia. The closest facility that will do a fill under fluroscopy is in New Jersey with a price tag of $365 and 7 hours of driving, not including my gas at $4 a gallon to get there.I have decided to fly back to Mexico for the fill.My plane ticket and the $279 fee for the fill in Mexico is still $6 cheaper than if i drove to Jersey.Isn't that nuts??The $279 fill in Mexico at the clinic I went to also includes the shuttle service to and from San Diego airport and 1 night stay in that fabulous Hotel Lucerna.

I've heard of Dr Felix as far as I know he won't do a fill on patients, that weren't his originally. I know he has an extremely busy practice, people come from all over for his help. But it doesn't hurt to ck again. Thanks

My Dr is in TJ, but it's a 5-6 hour drive one way depending on traffic, w/gas $4.56 a gallon and the pain of cross the border, I'd love to find someone just a bit closer in CA. I was really hoping there would be someone locally for me or at least maybe someone in SF or Sacramento. Wishing you well and safe travel.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
