I used to weigh 124...Married at 180....took Lexapro and gained 60 lbs. in 2 mos. I could and cannot get the weight off. My husband and I both had the surgery on June 4th. Any suggestions about what to do? It is really hard not to eat what I want. I can't eat much...but it is still hard. My profile pic is from the good ole days. Ummm....only 3 to 4 years ago actually. Oh well! We are both in the program a little over a month now. Any advice? I work for a counseling center and have to drive around the county just to visit clients. Anyone have advice or a good story??? Reply please!!!:biggrin2: Check my profile and see what I used to look like!

Hey! Welcome! I was 304.4 at my highest. Now, almost 2 months out, I am 42lbs down (lost 15lbs in preop diet). I am super happy and feel great. Staying away from the bad foods has been easier after my second fill. I just don't feel hunger as much. I also have a very routine food plan because I tend to stray and eat crap. I pack a lunch box every day to work and eat ONLY what is in that lunch box. It sounds tough, but once you get used to it, it's a breeze. Good luck to both of you!

Thank you! I figured that after our fill, we will feel better. It is this diet the 2 weeks before the fill that is getting to me!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
