The Institute for Laparoscopic Surgery

Recommended Posts

I haven't had the surgery yet but I'm in the begining stages of looking into it. I have 2 very active sons (7m and 2.5YO) and I'm worried that realistically, NWWLS in Everett is going to be just too far to drive for fills. I live in Bellevue. I found this place Weight Loss Surgery at the Institute for Laparoscopic Surgery but I don't know anyone who has used them. Can anyone offer any assistance or opinions? We don't have any family in the area or any childcare as I'm a stay at home mom so proximity is going to be a huge factor for me.

Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?

Thanks!

Misty

Hi Misty,

My Dr. is Dr. Srikanth and he is wonderful. He has an office in Federal Way but they just opened up one in Redmond I believe. That probably wouldn't be too far for you. He has a fantastic record for success (meaning the most amount of weight lost). I believe that Dr. Srikanth and Dr. Oh have the best record in the state. They are also the most strict. I went to alot of different free seminars before deciding which Dr. to use. I loved the fact that Dr. Srikanth used to be an organ transplant surgeon. He obviously knows his stuff. Anyways just an option for you. They are all wonderful at his office.

I have a 20 month old special needs, disabled son and I drive over an hour to NWWLS from University Place...sometimes it sucks, I also am a stay at home mom with no friends or family here...my mother came and stayed with me for about a week or so after my surgery but I made the decision to have my surgery there so I want to keep going there for my fills ...I have no idea of any other fill drs, but I do know that NWWLS has branchs that do fills elsewhere...I know there's one in Spokane and Yakima, but I'm not sure about the others...good luck

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
