Will I ever be able to eat something??

Recommended Posts

Hello-I just had my 3nd fill last week- I first had at 6.5 ccs and my weight loss tapered off so then I had aa fill of 9.5 for my 10cc band and found that I was unable to keep anything down- EVERYTHING was regurgiated up so I went and had it deflated to 9cc's and although I am not regurgitating everything up I am still find it difficult to eat alot of foods. I am so SICK of Soups but I am having trouble finding foods that are okay. I know to stay away from breads and cheeses and Pasta (learned the hard way!). Does anyone have suggestions of things I might be able to eat that wont come back up later? Oh and here is the kicker- although my eating has gone from not able to able to eat some I still am not really losing....what is going on with me??? BTW my surgery was in March and my first fill was May 3rd. Since May I have only lost about 15 lbs. Maybe my expectations are high- can anyone let me know how long until their weight loss really kicked off? :confused2:

7_5_142.gif Starrie, Hello... 15lbs since May is awsome!! Most dr.s recomend that you loose 1-3 lbs a week . You still might be to tight if you are still having trouble eating. Good luck to you.

From what I know, it seems quick to get to 9 cc's. Is your band 10cc? Sounds like you are still too tight. If it were me, I'd go and get another cc out. You may not be losing because you can't really eat the "band way" when you can only eat Soup. Hope that helps.

Regards,

Alfie

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
