Hello,

I was banded 02-18-05 in Little Rock by Dr. Wellborn. I agree with you, it has been the best thing I could have done for myself. I have lost 25 lbs but the scales have stopped. My fill is at 3.0 and really tight so I know it is not overeating. I think I am still losing inches by the way my clothes fit. Did this happen to you. I have started the treadmill to help jump start the weight loss. Tell me about your fill and weight loss.

So glad to have a friend close to home.

Chat later,

Cheryl

Cheryl,

I have the Inamed band , 9.75 cm that holds 4cc. I have had three fills and am up to 1.7. I have an appointment for another fill on May 16. I do have some restriction, but am still able to eat more than I should be able to. I lost the first 25-30 pounds very quickly and the last few months have just been a few pounds up and down. My starting weight was 218 and now I am 185-187. I am losing lots of inches, but the scale just doesn't cooperate. I have gone from a 22/24 women's size to 16/18 Misses, but the scale seems to be stuck! I have the Tanita scale that measures body fat and have seen lots of improvement, so I am obviously gaining muscle, which weighs heavier. I walk on the treadmill every day, try to do 60 minutes and have a Pilates machine that I work out on as well, (toning and stretching). I have talked to other people who have had the same experience and then just started dropping the pounds again. Good luck to you and let me hear how you are doing!

Pat

My daughters grew up in Camden; we still know lots of people there, including my ex-husband.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
