Chicken Cob

Recommended Posts

So I'm not sure what the protein/carb/fat etc portions are in this but my family have always loved this recipe - It's cooked inside a pulled out part of a bread roll which I know alot of people can't do so you could always put it on toast - put in hors deauvres (sp?) cases or just eat it as it is. It's got alot of dairy in it so it's probably high in fat but when I think about it it's probably a good food when some are on the mushie stage. So here's the recipe - Also anyone not banded I guarantee will love this recipe - When we can't think of anything for dinner we usually have this as it's simple and easy and tastes sooooooooo good.

1 Cup of Cream

1 Cup of Sour Cream

1 Cup of Grated cheese

Soup Packet (Powdered) - Cream of chicken or cheese and Leek (we usually use cream of chicken, in australia we use continental cream of chicken simmer Soup but anything thats a powdered form of cream of chicken will work)

Onion

Cob Loaf

Chicken - If you want you can use chicken mince as it will be easier to digest - We usually use about 500g of chicken breast and cut it up finely

Chop chicken and onion and cook in frypan

Mix all ingredients together (obviously not with the cob loaf)

Put in microwave for 5 minutes

Slice top off and pull out inside of cob loaf

Fill with mixture and put in oven for 10-15 minutes (Oven to be on moderate 180 which is 350 F for americans)

If you need something quick and simple try this. We're actually having this for dinner tonight so I'll get a picture of it to show what it looks like - I guarantee once you try this you'll want to live on it lol

Ugh I know right lol, you can always substitute everything for low fat alernatives, I know you can get low fat cream and low fat sour cream and cheese, but maybe instead of sour cream you could also use yoghurt? It's basically the same kind of texture with less fat and sugar. But then again this is the kind of thing you have maybe once every 6 months lol. It's also good for barbeques, when we have parties we make them and everyone gathers around it - we usually do 2 and there gone within a couple of hours lol.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
