PR for training 5k!!! :)

That's awesome whosya! I have to get my rear back in gear. I went to camp with my DD this last weekend and I've been so swamped this week I haven't had a chance to do much exercise. It'll be painful when I start back up again. I did however have a chance to hike a really steep trail over the weekend and was very proud of myself for not only making it up, but doing it without stopping or having a heart attack. Ha! I have a softball game tomorrow (our first) so at least I'm doing something. Keep up the great work. I want to be just like you guys when I grow up!! LOL! :)

Okay, I know this is a running thread, but I'm really pumped and I had to share with people who will understand. We had our first softball game tonight. Now realize that we are a "just for fun" team and play in a league of other non competitive teams. Anyway, I wasn't sure how we would do and we did awesome! We didn't win, but we went into overtime. I had two hits!!! The first one I made it home, but the person behind me got the last out. The next one I would have made it (and it would have been the winning point, by the way) if I'd had 10 more pounds off!! LOL. It was so close. I realized as I was running home (all the way from first base mind you) that the other guy was going to beat me to home plate. I momentarily thought about sliding, but was afraid I'd really hurt myself! LOL. Anyway, it was close! We had a blast! The best part is that I'm playing sports again and I didn't embarrass myself! I've dreamed of doing this again! I played sports since I was 12 and for the last 10 years I've had to give it up! Not anymore baby!!!! Sorry to go on and on, but I'm so stoked!!! Running the bases, whoop-whoop!! :blushing:

Anyway, thanks for listening!!!

Thats Awesome Bea!!!!!

I hear you! I played softball for a few years and was really looking foward to getting back on our church team with all the weight i lost.

I signed up on the sign up sheet and they were total jerks about it. One day in May i called my buddy and he was playing for the team! They didnt even call me. I am so mad at them. They say its for fun but the guy running it is really an ### and i know he didnt call me because he doesnt think im fit enough. Little does he know!

Well screw them. I will just keep knocking out Triathlons.:)

Glad you are playing. I am enjoying hearing from you.

That stinks Whosya! I can't believe that a church team would be so blatant about not calling you. I mean, really, what happened to accepting all people? Yeah, the hell with 'em, you are awesome.

I'm playing on my church team as well. We are just playing for fun too, but we have a couple of @$$'s as well. They think they can tell me what to do in the field and then those people were saying "wow, you are a great player, I had no idea". I was like "do you have to sound so surprised?". Sheesh! Just because I'm bigger than when I used to play doesn't mean I've lost my ability. It just means I'm a little slower than I used to be. Besides, I'm one of the younger players on the team. Most everyone else is either pushing 40 or already past. We've already had 4 injuries and last night was our first game. At least I haven't wimped out yet!! LOL Besides that, my butt is on the treadmill almost every day!

Just keep doin' your thang, my friend! It's their loss!!! Tell em to kiss your much smaller butt!!! :)

yeah...they call it an outreach but its really not. first its a mens only team..my old church team was mixed.

then one of my friends brought someone new to the game and asked if he could play...the coach looked him up and down and he was a little fat and said 'sorry we have enough to play' I hate that stuff...thats why i am just going to keep away from it.

I love that you enjoy it so much.

Maybe i should just find a reg league. At least you KNOW what to expect there.

Whosya - yeah, I know what you mean. We have a mixed league, "boy-girl-boy-girl". Some of the "boys" try to be bossy, but I'm an extremely outspoken southern woman and I don't let them get away with that. Everyone that loves me knows that about me and they just laugh it off. I've already ticked a few people off because they don't know me very well nor do they get my warped sense of humor. Our "coach" is a woman. She's played for years so she's fair. We have tall people, thin people, fat people, short people. And most important, we all suck compared to a competitive league and we all make mistakes. Now I will say that some of the "boys" can knock it out of the park, but most of them missed balls last night. I may not be fast, but I didn't let anything get by me, so they can just all lump it if they don't like it!!! LOL I may suck, but I have a lot of heart and I don't quit. Amen and now I'm done with my sermon, Ill get off my soapbox, check in next week for another episode!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!:lol: :):(:lol: :)  :lol:  One thing you should know about me is that nothing makes me madder than someone being excluded because of how they look or what they have or whatever!! Sorry...I always fight for the "underdog" so to speak.

I'm extremely lucky to have found my church home. We've only been there 1 1/2 years and before that we were at a church where appearance was everything. I don't play that game. If I like you -I like you, it doesn't matter if you live in a mansion or in a cardboard box. I really am sorry that you've had that experience. Your church should be your sanctuary and you should feel at home, everywhere.... which includes softball. Those people are just ugly and it's their loss, not yours. Find a league if that makes you happy or just keeping triathaloning (is that a word? Ha!). Life's too short to deal with crap like that!

Hope to talk to you soon!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
