Cough and cold dont't feel too good

Recommended Posts

I got a really bad cold that continued with a cough I've had it for a few days and the cough was really bad. So, I am worried that if LB can slip? due to excessive coughing? It feels sore or light pain if I take a deep breath.

I am feeling very tight right now so I am trying to take it easy with liquids only.

So has anyone had a really bad cough related to a cold and had any issues..any info would be very helpful.

I am new to this so I hope I did this right:redface:

You need to worry much more about vomiting than coughing. I have not heard of a slip caused by coughing, but I am not a doctor. Make sure that you have same anti-nausea medication just in case. Staying with liquids will help along with a cough suppresant that is friendly to your banded stomach.

If the cough is really bad, don't hesitate to call your doctor for suggestions.

I called my doctor the other day because I had started coughing just a bit and was worried about the same thing. I was told not to worry that the biggest problem would just be the pain since I just had surgery.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
