36_1_79.gif 7_5_142.gif Hello all. I am wanting to get a Trykke. How do you all like it and do you think they are worth the price? Also any serious injuries? My kids and sister seem to think I will kill myself on it! I used to skateboard some when I was young. Nothing fancy but....I did'nt kill myself then!

There is a thread about this in the exercise forum. I have a trikke. I love it. I'm not such an accomplished rider, but it's good exercise trying. My suggestion is to get some lessons from the place where you buy it, if possible. Get a helmet. It's not nearly as tricky as a skateboard.

Check out Youtube there are lots of trikke videos on there.

Have fun.

Hi:

I love, love, love my trykke. I got it end of March and quickly fell in love with it. It's almost like an addiction. When I wake up and it's sunny I can hardly wait to get out on it. I live in New England and there's alot of traffic and bumpy roads. It works best on flat, smooth surfaces. Make sure you get a helmet.

My first day riding it was riding around the complex where I live and these little boys were following me asking "Hey kid, what's that thing you're riding. It looks cool!". What a hoot - I'm a 48 year old kid.

I'm not very coordinated, but I took it slow at first. I haven't actually fallen to the ground yet, but I still got alot of bruises on my lower calves.

I wouldn't advise riding it down any hills because it will go too fast and that's when it gets scary for me.

Let me know how you make out and if you love it like I love mine.

Take care.

Sue

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
