So FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I knew this whole trip was going entirely too smoothly. My insurance went through without a thought, the appointments lined up perfectly (band date two weeks after school was over ... I am a teacher), and I had the whole summer to heal and begin this process. Now, I receive a call from my surgeon's office this morning telling me that they just found out he would be at a conference for two weeks in June. UGHHHH!! My surgery date has been pushed back until July 2nd. I know, I know, in the grand scheme of things this is only a week. But to someone who has been searching for a tool to aid what seems like impossible weightloss, another week might as well be a century. Now I have to go about adjusting house sitters, dog sitters, my mother's schedule, my partner's schedule...all to the new surgery date. It may seem little, but the disappointment is huge.

Any words of encouragment would be appreciated.........I am going to attempt to stop my self imposed hissy fit here shortly!

As a teacher I know the importance of healing during the summer, but that being said I didn't even begin the process of looking into the band until July 2 of last year (yes...weird coincidence!) and had mine done August 9. We start the last week in August with inservices and I was a little sore, but for the most part was good.

While it is frustrating, you can start thinking like a bandster any time. Perhaps not with the portions of foods, but with the right types of foods, the stoppage of drinking before, during and after a meal, and listening to your stomach to determine if it is hungry or if your head is hungry. if you can start that NOW, it will make the journey easier. All of the life frustrations and schedules will look like nothing once you get this tool.

Good luck and feel blessed that you have insurance that covers it...mine didn't. GULP...still paying and adding the TT on to that as well. Oh well...I am so worth it!

I can feel your pain. I was on my pre-op diet when I got an infection. it went from may 29 to july 3. I am happy, because they thought it would be late aug. one more day for you and two more for me. best wishes. we will be fine.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
