Hello May 9th Bandsters!!

Recommended Posts

I was banded this morning. It was a breeze! Went in at 8:15 and was at home by noon. I haven't had to take pain meds yet. A little sore and some what I think is gas pain on the left shoulder and under the left rib. I have the realize band with no inflation.. My only other complaint is DRY mouth and sore throat!! I would love to hear from the other May 9th bandsters!! Hope everyone is doing well.

May 9th was my day also. I had my surgery at 1pm yesterday and was home by 6. Still feeling sore and bloated today. I have the Gas X strips that someone mentioned were really good. I've been taking those. I have only taken 2 doses of lortab. I'm weaning myself to just plain tylenol. I'm walking around some. I made the mistake of going to work today at my desk job but could only make it 1/2 way through. Don't want to overdo it. Colleen.

Well day one was good and it has been down hill since! I have felt like I want to throw up so bad. I am having a hard time breathing without having pain in the bottom of my rib cage and the pain on my left shoulder is terrible. I heard walking helped with the gas but if I get winded...it makes it worse. Anyone have this?

I am actually feeling better today than yesterday. I was so bloated yesterday and the gas pressure was bad. I am still sore today but not as bad. I have been walking like a maniac. I don't think I'm drinking enough because I can hear my stomach grumbling today. I'm working on a paper for school today and it is much easier today. I am taking deep breaths and I definitely feel it when I do. I don't really have the left shoulder and chest pressure. My bloating is more down low. It may eventually rise up. I have a heating pad on my stomach today and it seems to help. Hang in there. I definitely am not in the group who feels no pain. It will get better with time I think. Colleen

Oh my goodness! The two of you must be superheros! 2Btiny, I can't believe you had the energy to be fiddlefarting around the computer a few hours after surgery! Caminco, you went to work the next day? You two are definitely troopers! I laid around for three days too tired and achey to do anything other than pee! You go girls!

I was also banded on May 9th. I went in at 7:30 and was home a little after two. I did not have much pain the first day, just really sleepy. I have been fortunate enough not to have gas pains. Other than being a little sore the first couple of days, everything went extremly well.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
