OK. You're almost at the half way mark. My advise is to find something to keep you ocuppied, read, garden, walk, shop, work out, paint, clean. Anything to stay on track.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay focused on your goals. Good Luck!

I found the pre op diet the hardest part of my surgery and post band life!!!!. It was not required by my doctor, but I chose to do it because our follow up doctor recommends them and I was really concerned about making sure I could recover quickly!!!

I used a GNC Protein drink properformanace 95 ( all soy protein) and skim milk with it and a little fruit, plus the jellow and the tea stuff 10 days 13 lbs and all ready for one last little meal in Mexico and it has been great since then!!!

Im right there with you Brissiebabe!! I am pre op too. My surg date is May 5! My doctor requires his patients to lose 10 pounds prior to surgery. I have done that but now I gotta maintain! Its been hard...but yesterday i did good...today will be better. thats all i can do! I did the shopping thing yesterday...came outta Walmart $130.00 later! Can't do that one too often but it got me outta the house and away from eatting. I can't wait to be on the other side of this....WE CAN DO THIS! WE HAVE WAITED ALL OUR LIVES FOR AN OPPORTUNITY LIKE THIS!! yeaaaahhhh!!!

good luck to you! and lemme know how your doing!

Talk to you soon!

Remember- Eat to Live , don't Live to Eat. If your simply dying than ask the Doctor if you can have one pickle. They are usually a free food. You can do this. Just think of all those "Bonus" pounds your losing! Good Job- Stay with it!!

What is the Mcleods pre op diet? From what I understand, my surgeon doesn't require one but if it will make post op easier, I want to do it. Thanks.

Yuck! Yuck! Ick! ugh! I just started my pre-op diet yesterday. My surgeon makes you buy their stuff they sell. It's Myocel. Can we say...NASTY! LOL I was sooo hungry by dinner time last night. I made a "test shake" Tuesday night after my pre-op appointment and blah!!! I called the nurse @ my Dr's office and she gave me some ideas of things I can add into my chocolate myocel- coffe flavors, Sugar Free Chocolate pudding mix (not the whole package I'm sure, just to add a little flavor), bananas, strawberries, sugar free jello.... So I'm going to try a few strawberries and maybe 1/2 a banana today and hope for the best.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
