I need a fill Dr. in The Woodlands, TX

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone uses Dr. Wilkenfeld in The Woodlands? I was banded by Dr. Spivak, but my 1 year of free fills is coming up so I'm looking to switch to an office that is closer. (I live in Sterling Ridge) I have verified with their office that they do take transfers but would really like to hear from folks that go to that office for fills about their experience. Are the nurses good? The office staff? Do the nurses do fills or the Drs.? (I'm fine with the nurses doing it) Can you get in and out quickly/easily? Any feedback you can give is greatly appreciated! Or if anyone knows of other Drs. in The Woodlands that take transfer patients I would love to get that info. Perhaps at Memorial Hermann, etc. Thanks much! -Rachel

I am so excited, I was banded by Dr. Spiegel 2 months ago and just found out they are going to put a fill center in The Woodlands - it should be open in about 4 months.

I know my obgyn said 2 or 3 of her nurses have been banded by Dr. Collier? in The Woodlands and they all love him. I don't know anything personally about him, but they were raving over him.

I went to Dr Collier's seminar and really liked him. He has an office in Conroe and Woodlands area. I have not heard of anything bad about Dr Wilkenfield other than one of my husband's coworkers had so much trouble with her band that she had it removed. I have not heard of any problems about the doctor himself.

I was banded 3/25 by Dr. Wilkenfeld, and he has been the greatest and really has a sense of humor. I have had my first fill by them, he only put in .5cc which felt fine by me. They are moving to a new office off of 242 which will be closer to me, right in the same strip center as Charming Charlie, I am so excited for them, they are also getting a fluro machine which will help us newbies, Tina isthe Doc's wife and she is great, she knows everything that is going on, what to expect and what not, they are there to help 24/7, and the people on the inside are great people also. Granted I am new and I go in for my second fill on the 30th, don't know what the outcome will be, but I have no regrets with Dr. Wilkenfeld, as I have heard about the other local doctors and their support/help just isn't there. I think you will be happy to switch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
