Yes. There is a meeting tonight. But, we meet on the second Thursday of the Month, at the Melbourne Church of Christ. It's at 810 Hollywood Blvd. We meet at 7pm and all are welcome to attend...

Hope to see you there sometime.

Hope all is well with you and your band...

hi all ... I have been reading but not posting much. I was banded last Tuesday 4/7 by Domkowski (@ PBCH) ... the surgery took longer than expected (2-3 hrs ) and I had a tough time coming out of anesthesia & had nausea & dry heaving all night. I ended up spending the night in the hospital b/c of this. Not fun

At any rate, I am doing much better but I still have some soreness ... that punched-in-the-gut feel. Anyone else still have this almost a week out from surgery?

I have had 2 c-sections and several D&Cs so surgery is not new to me. I really thought I'd bounce back quicker than I seem to be. *sigh* I guess I just needed to whine about it.

Gina you should check with Dr Domkowski or Dr valardi at the Palm Bay Hospital that is where I had my surgery done on March 24. I didn't have to pay any consulataion fee. My insurance covered everything (tricare) retired military. I suggest you check out their seminar's they have, I was very comfortable with all the staff.

Hey Gina,

My name is Shay and I live in Satellite Beach (right on the space coast) and my husband and I both were banded on May 28, 2009 in Mexicali, Mexico and it was the best experience ever!!! It exceeded all of our expectations by far.

Let me know if I can help with anything.

My husband and I were both banded on May 28, 2009. Didn't have the dry heaves, but I had a problem with Naseau the first 2 days, it was extremely annoying. My husband didn't have this problem. We both had a lot of soreness for the first 2 weeks or so. I, too, thought the laproscopic surgery would be easy and quick recovery because I had 4 c-sections. So, the recovery was much longer than I expected and a lot of pain around the port area. It is also taking much longer for 1 of my incisions to heal.

I wanted to see if I could find out what type of meeting you have and a current schedule. Also, looks like you have had a lot of fills and close together. Can you give me more details and how that is going now that you have had 5 fills?

Dr. Domkowski is now on his own in Sebastian, Florida. Contact Riverside Surgical & Weight Loss Center for further info.

He does the lap band and the lap sleeve surgery. He also does fills for people who have been banded in other places.

There are also support groups:

Sebastian River Medical Center: every 4th Tuesday at 6p in the Dining Hall

Palm Bay Hospital: every 3rd Wednesday at 5:45p in the Private Dining Room in the new expansion

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
