Hello, I have been looking up information and following some of the threads on this site for a few month now but I haven't posted anything.

I just received a call from my Dr.'s office informing me that insurance has approved me for surgery. I am happy, but very nervous as well.:grouphug:

I don't know what else to say right now. I think I am nearly speachless.

HI Brandy..I remember you from another post...I too am in Oregon...

I got the call on Monday and my surgery date is April 1st...yes..in 6 days!!

I am an RN and often work in the OR....I confess that I wish I hadn't seen so many surgeries myself :)

So you are waiting to submit to insurance??? Did you have to do the 6 month supervised diet????

congrads!!!!!!!!! how did you get approved so fast b4 seeing the surgeon what kind of insurance do you have.....

Well, it wasn't quite as fast as it seems. I actually started the whole process last June. I want to the first information seminar where you get the first packet of forms to fill out. I filled them out and mailed them in. I should have heard from them in a couple weeks but they lost my packet. :) I didn't know this because I waited a couple months (I was real busy with work so I didn't notice how much time had passed) for them to contact me for the next step. Anyway, in November I decided that I was going to have to contact them so I stopped by their office and filled out the paperwork on site. That way they could not lose it again. From that point it started going pretty fast. It seemed like an appointment every couple weeks until now. I have Health Partners for insurance and once it was submitted (that took two tries too, but I only waited a couple weeks to notice this time) it was only about 10 days until approval.

Congrads, Dan! Thank you as well for responding to me. I am very new at this and am not sure if I am doing the right things. I am mainly here to read a lot before I go to the consult. I wish you the very best of luck and will keep you in my prayers.

take care:):)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
