Hi everyone!! Nervous and Excited... maybe a little apprehensive...

Hi there everyone, My name is Allison and I'm pretty new on this site. I have been reaserching the lap band for about six months, I attended a seminar and I finally made an appointment for my first consultation with the surgeon two weeks from today. :biggrin2:

I'm really excited but I'm still kind of apprehensive. I've been doing so much reasearch I feel like I know all the of positives and negatives of lap band, but I guess a part of me still has my doubts that something like this could really work for me. I am still young but I have been on so many diets since I was eight years old its ridiculous, as I'm sure many of you can understand. Nothing has really worked for me though, and I guess I'm afraid I am going to have to spend the rest of my life overweight. Has anyone on here had a lot of success? No success? I would love some feedback about anything anyone has to offer me.

Congratulations and welcome! Call your insurance company and ask for a list of their requirements to gain approval for the surgery. Keep reading through the posts and ask lots of questions. There is a wealth of info here. MANY people have been very successful and there's a thread of people who have lost over 100 pounds.
