My surgery is scheduled for March 26. It is hard to think about anything else. Every free minute I have I am checking out lapbandtalk.com. Guess I should be out walking instead, but we are in the midst of another blizzard, so here I am. Good luck. Let's keep each other posted after surgery.

The 25th is the big day!!! Today I went shopping for a few things:

1. new pajamas

2. crop sweats

3. liquid multi-Vitamin

4. Liquid Calcium

5. 3 cans of worldwide Protein drink - to sample for later!!

I am having a hard time focusing on anything else right now...my housework is pilling up!!

Me too!

I'm glad someone else is having focus problems. I sneak on the website at work, which is something I NEVER do. (It's not forbidden.....I have a job to do, not hours to spend in the office!)

I have bought a bunch of things. I have a new heating pad, liquid tylenol, gas x stripes, various types of Protein supplements, flintstones Vitamins, Calcium carbonate......and more!

I am consumed with the surgery. It seems to be getting closer and closer. I really don't expect to sleep the night before. I hope that I have a early surgery time!

What is calcium carbonate for?

Hi Duke!

Too funny! I have the same feeling about the scale now. I've never been weighed so much in 8 weeks. I used to dread getting on the scale, but now I am over that!

I have my pre-op stuff on Tuesday as well. I'm with you on being excited to see a bunch of medical folks. Good luck Tuesday!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
