Fruits

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

There's many yummy recipes on the main forum, but there's not much talk about fruit.< /p>

How much fruit would you include in your daily intake (post-band) and what are the best fruits to eat?

I would miss my fruit if I had to give them up particuarly bananas...

Thanks

Peek - alot of people are Atkins so they watch their carbs - I follow weight watcher eating plan - as I find it a well rounded balance eating plan that includes all the things that i like to eat.

I eat bananas - by themselves or cut up in my yogurt - I eat pears, peaches, apples, plums - (you gotta chew the skin really good or cut it off) the only fruit that has given me any problems are oranges and thats the stringy tissue arount the actual furit (don't know what you call it) but i just chew up the orange and then spit that striny stuff out.

I try to eat 2 different fruits (and five vegetables) per day.

Usually I will have some fruit for Breakfast - mixed berries on my Cereal or in yogurt, or a banana chopped up etc. And then another piece of fruit for an afternoon snack, perhaps with a few walnuts or something.

I eat 2 or 3 pieces of fruit a day, lately I've been eating nectarines, plums and grapes. I also have a couple of banana's a week - the potassium in them is helps if you suffer from Fluid retention.

Phew! I was beginning to think that people didn't eat much fruit. I love my fruit particularly during the summer and would find it hard if I had to do without. Thanks everyone.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
