:cursing::blink:hi bit of a personal subject but since banding does anyone have trouble with their bowl movements, i am having a bad time every few days and wondered if it is due to the lack of fibre i am eating or the amount of food i now eat. Thanks if anyone has the same or diff and hope this does not offend.

Previously, I went every day, sometimes twice a day, but since my I have approached my sweet spot, my movements have reduced to around once or twice a week...I think that this is partly down to the quantity of food I now eat! If I'm not careful, I get constipated, and I'm aware of how much fibre I've eaten....

To combat this I take Benefibre... no taste, no texture, no smell and it doesn't turn into a gel in your stomach so it stays down!

I did spend some considerable time taking laxatives, but they're not good to take long term and the fibre is a healthier way to keep everything ticking over!

I didn't tell anyone that I'd had a band fitted.

My OH knows, a few of my close friends (3!) and that's it!

I've lost 68lb in the 47 weeks since my op... It's slower than I anticipated, but hey it's down and not up! I've lost weight before, so nobody has really questioned my success... it's just Mynie on another diet!

I might consider a colonic though.... been having a look at local practitioners!

I'm not sure if I'll ever tell anyone.... OH says it's nobody's business but my own!

I'm halfway there now and I hope that I'll reach 'normal by my birthday in June! Not target but at least in the realms of =BMI 25!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
