Nymph's Valentine's Day Challenge Week 5 :2/7/08

Ok, Guess I'll go first this week. Have to say I am floored that I have surpassed my original goal (with one week still left). Even if my goal was small, I had doubts I could acheive it.

Aiming to hit the 180's by end of challenge.

Come on Nymph's, let's see those big numbers you guys always post.:)

Shortgal...Congratulations. I guess you were excited, I popped on to create this thread and you beat me to it. I am excited as well, I am pass my goal and after my fill yesterday, I am trying to drink my shake and I can't do it. Just don't want it. I was hungry for Breakfast but seem satisfied with just 4 oz. not sure if this is restriction or an illusion.

I am so excited to be losing weight consistently. Unlike many overweight people, I was never able to succesfully lose a lot of weight. The most I ever lost was 30 pounds and it took me ten months and then I regained half of it before I got banded.

I am still VERY concerned about keeping the weight off down the road. I'll have to be very vigilant about watching the smallest of weight gains.

I called the Dr to move my fill up, I had big time hunger yesterday and feel like the band is not yet helping me as much as it could.

15 pounds for you in five weeks is unbelievable! You are really doing well.

What should our next challenge be? Valentine's day to Easter or to April's fool's day?

I was thinking a bit longer. I thought about maybe Memorial Day and call it the Spring Challenge.

I think 15lbs great too, but remember I started with 358 (docs scale) or 354 (my scale)lbs. I have about 175lbs. to lose so I will lose fast at the start and slow way down. I would be happy with 1 to 2lbs. per week because it would mean I was going down.

I am glad that you moved your fill up but take it easy because you don't want to move to fast as you may get uncomfortable. I am sure you know this but me being mother hen just wants to make sure the band is comfortable and not miserable like poor Liz.

I agree about after the weightloss and managing it. It will be difficult but one thing that we have that most don't a BAND RESTRICTER (lol):)

Shortgal...you doing great and don't let the scale or hunger get you down. Keep coming here for support and logging your food and drinking your Water...you know the drill.

I find that this site and posting has been great support. Even if I don't get to post a reply, I read this site everyday because it helps me.

Thanks Longhorn! I made an amazing discovery yesterday while cutting my toenails...I can do it without contorting my body into a weird and painful position and my workout pants almost slid off while on the treadmill.....hummmm...maybe too much information!!??!

Goodbye 30 pounds!!!

OK I have really slowed down, but I get a fill next Wed. My first, wish me luck! I saw my surgeon yesturday and he was really pleased with my progress. I almost had to beg and plead for the fill. I told him I was ready because I've been able to eat more and my weight is up or down each week.

I only have 2 lbs to my mini goal though... I think I'll be able to make it! I am so glad a bunch of you have beaten your goal already way to go!!

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
