First fill today!

Recommended Posts

Yes, 3 months later and I got my first fill. I was very VERY disappointed at my weigh-in. According to my scale at home I was down about 23 pounds but the doctor's scale said I was only down 16! Argh!

The appointment took all of 15 minutes and was painless. I went to the mall after though and felt sick to my stomach a little, I think it was from the barium I had to swallow for the fluro.

I had Tomato Soup for dinner tonight and it went down just fine.

Hope everyone is doing well!

dont beat yourself up over the difference in scales! time of day, what you were wearing, the scales themselves. all that can make a difference. try to look positively at it....you are DOWN 23 (16) pounds! better then up that amount, right?

keep up the good owrk.

I'm curious to know why it took 3 months before you had your first fill? I had my lap band on May 1st and had my 1st fill today....less than a month later.

Initially I had a big loss, but then it halted. I think that this fill will get me going in the right direction again!!

You know, its just the way my doctor does it. I don't know why. I was REALLY upset about it but it all worked out. I'm going in today for my 3rd fill!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
