Kids meals!

I love places that have great kids meals! This is from Moe’s Southwest Grill. Burrito, chips, drink, and a cookie! Will get 2-3 meals out of this. Free refills on the drink and chips too!

What are some of your favorite kids meals?

I love the Outback kids meal and the Texas Roadhouse kid's meal. It comes with so much and lasts me way more than one meal.

  • Yess the Chipotle kid's meal is also great! Q protein, 2 toppings/fillers & tortilla or taco shells. It's more than enough!

  • I like chipotle! It’s $5 for either a quesadilla or taco and you get a mini bag of chips with it and a drink! Great bang for your buck.

For anyone in the DMV, Silver Diner is the greatest. They have healthy kids meals based on the adult menu. I’m a huge fan of the turkey and fresh veggies. One kids meal is enough for two meals. Delish, low calorie, and cheap. They also have the adult under 600 calorie menu which is delicious but a lot of food.

Texas Roadhouse has grilled chicken tenders. I order that plus fresh veggies which is normally brocolli and carrots. The chicken tenders are so juicy soft and seasoned very well!

I agree, Texas roadhouse is great. I havent been to outback since ive had my " banana" but i will keep that in mind

Garbonza Mediterranean Fresh is really good. I love their chicken, which you can have made as a salad, gyro, pita, rice bowl, or by itself. Add in all the fresh toppings such as chick peas, hummus, tomato and cucumber salad, and so much more....yum. We just Doordashed it tonight and I have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow.

How do you get away with ordering from the kids menu?. My surgery is Monday so I have time until I’m there but curious

You can get a card from your doctor, Amazon or Bariatric Pal that says that have to allow you to order from the kids menu, share with someone or order smaller portions.

Usually they let you. When they don’t automatically, I pull the manager aside and explain I had weight loss surgery. Never had a problem.

Some of the restaurants I’ve gone to have kids meals but they have an age limit on them. FOR KIDS UNDER 10 for example.

They say under 10, but usually allow you to order without a problem or if you tell them you’ve had weight loss surgery.

Never hurts to ask; the worst thing they can do is say no. Seniors' menus are another option, but again, sometimes they're more "strict" about such things than others.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I will definitely ask for the kids meal next time. I'm glad to know what restaurants have what meals.

This is how. And it's Ricky Gervais not Ramsey. LOL

It's better to just order what you want that's healthy and box half of it or more before you start eating. Kids' meals are usually full of fat and carbs and are not good.

I just went camping for two weeks and we lost power and ice in the area due to storms. We moved on and ordered eggy stuff at Tim Horton’s, sandwiches at Subway (didn’t eat the bread), and burgers at local restaurants (no bun but extra lettuce and tomato). In fancier places I ask to order an appetizer as a meal. No one cares. I ended up dropping 5 pounds. (I think the threat of carnivorous animals being attracted to food in the tent had a big effect on healthy habits too. Sigh, maybe I should be more afraid of the giant rats in my apartment building ;)
