Hi Whos - So cold here - I haven't been getting out as much as I would like. I am on week 8 this week and am hoping to have finished the entire thing by new years! Good job with week 9!

I used the couch potato to 5 k program to start running and found it fantastic. I completed a half marathon last month and am training towards a 30 km in the spring.

BTW... I live in the Arctic. Ran 12 km on Saturday at -35!!!!

Good luck to all of you!!!

I am planning on starting this next week. I have gotten my kids to commit (14 and 10) and with them my DH has joined in as well. I'm sooooo looking forward to getting started. I have been feeling so much better with almost 50# gone that I can't wait!! I actually WANT to run!!!!!!!! OMG!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Does it really work! When you start, should you be running on flat surfaces or did you try a treadmill?

It really works!!!

I started running a little over a year ago. I doubled the program (i.e. took two weeks to do what they said I should do in a week). I now run 4 times a week,, did a half marathon last month and am training for a 30 km in the spring.

Hey gang! I'm on board for this, too. I want to run so badly. I always get jealous when I see others running b/c I want to do it, too. This seems like a great way to start!

I've got my BodyBugg and I'm ready to go. I have a friend who is super-fit and he loves to work out. He's s'posed to help me. I can't wait. I'll be running before I know it!

I've been doing something similar on my own. I'm now like week 6. I can walk 2 min, run 8 min, walk 2, run 8, walk 2 run 8.

I started with running 30 seconds out of every 2 minutes, I think that was back in October.

A year ago I'd not have ran if a car was careening toward me, I'd just think, 'wow I'm going to do some damage that car!'

So sign me up, I'll check in with ya. I'm shooting to run a 5K February 17th, but I'm in Ohio and it might be icy. I'll run in the cold but not the snow.

Julie i just got back from Ohio, I have to go there for buisnees, One week i do cincinnati then colubus then Cleveland then Toledo.

YEs it really works!. I can run for 30 mins now every other day. I still go slow as im still heavy but as an example between Sunday and thursday this week i dropped 6 pounnds! I do some swimming also.

I run (jog) at 4.5mph right now which is slow but i can make it.

I would run outside but im just too embrassed at my weight.

Week 8 - I haven't updated in a while. I am only on week 8 (28 minute run) but am hoping to prgress to the final week in a few days. I go so slowly that there is no way I am actually running 5K in 30 minutes! More like 3K!

Oh well,

I am doing this 4 mile run on new years eve but am already certain I am going to have to walk 1/2 of it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
