Anyone ever have days where it feels like they never had the surgery? Where there appetite is like it used to be ? There’s no off switch and you don’t even dump after? It’s freaking me out and I don’t know how to reset or fix it. I’m 3 months out and I’ve lost 60plus but now I’m worried. Anyone have any advice?

Do you not still feel your restriction? Maybe you have trained your mind and don’t realize it but you are eating smaller portions if That is not kicking in.

When I was still in the weight loss phase, I had what I called "munchie" days, when I was hungry all day long. I learned not to fight it, but to make sure I ate nutritious, high Protein food and not junk. If I ate something and then an hour later I was hungry, I'd eat something else but it had to be something on-plan. I found those days were offset by an equal number of days when I had very little appetite and ate super-lightly. The good thing about munchie days is that they were often followed by a nice drop in weight. I have no idea how that works, but I observed that to be the case.

After my surgery I only lost my appetite for a few weeks and then my stomach started actually growling at me again! I have “munchie days”, too where I seem to be hungry all the time. I try to tell myself that it’s head hunger and resist grazing in the fridge. When I just have to have something I’ll have a Swanson’s chicken Sipping Bone Broth. It’s low calorie and pretty high in Protein and it does help curb my hunger. Try having more protein when you eat an actual meal. It does seem to help.

Hi I'm Sam, currently 7 seven years out of VSG and looking into revision due to weight gain.
I'll be the first to say I lived life a little too hard and am looking for a second chance at a healthier life.

Lololol...sad but true.. make sure you have probiotics in your diet daily. It helps your b m not have the horrible odor since we do not have the duodenum. I don't understand why they take that part out but they shouldn't leave it. Everything you eat and you can smell. But when you get back to normal eating it is off the chain.

I’m 67 and had surgery in September.

I had surgery on September 27th and I am one of the very blessed ones that have had no pain to speak of besides a couple days of gas pain. I have lost 9 lb since surgery, and I am feeling a little like I should have lost more by now. Is that realistic? Or am I being too fussy?
