Hungry? When did everyone's hungry start once they were banded?

Recommended Posts

Today it is Day 7 for me. I got ravenous on liquids on Day 3-6. Today, I am feeling a little better eating some yogurt and pudding in addition to the Protein.

I don't know for sure but I believe the Protein made the difference plus the ability to eat something semi-solid in the form of the pudding and yogurt.

I can say I am not as hungry as I was before the band but it is clear to me a week in that restriction via fills is going to be important for me:-))

:eek:Hi I am not sure what I am doing here - I am hoping I an emailing someone -

I found this website today and am thinking this is a great thing. I had the lapband done 11/10 - I'm two weeks out and am trying to figure out what is considered mushie food with Protein.

I noticed you are from MT - me too - altho not living there currently. Thought it would be nicer to email a fellow Montanan.

So if you get a chance email me back and tell me how you've been making out - and maybe you could give me some clue as to the mushie/protein thing.

I am going to try and log in again over the weekend - if I can figure out where I've been tonight on this thing. Maybe you'll reply by then -

Thanks

I'm four weeks out and still not really "hungry". My stomach growls like crazy, but to me that's not "hunger". Unless there is something REALLY tempting right in front of me, I am pretty indifferent to food. It's GREAT.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
