Bariatric pal

Ok I need some help...lol. Im trying to order my vitamins, calcium citrate, B12 and vitamin d3 off of bariatricpal.com. So do i just order vitamins and just the calcium citrate because the vitamins have the other stuff needed or do I order all four items separately?

which surgery did you have? A lot of bypass patients have to take B12 and D3 in addition to their multi (we don't absorb B12 well because of our lack of intrinsic factor, so we have to take it via sublingual tablet or injection, usually - so that precludes whatever is in the multi. Also, our vit D requirement is higher than what is in the multi). I don't think sleeve patients, in general, need quite as many vitamins (although some clinics have both kinds of patients on the same regimen)

there may be some bariatric-specific vitamins where you don't have to worry about all these additional supplements - but check. You can compare what's written on the bottle to this list from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (you have to scroll down a ways to see their requirements):

Well I will be having gastric bypass on the 29th and I just want to have everything I need before hand.

then you will probably need those additional vitamins above and beyond your multivitamin. UNLESS you can find a bariatric-specific vitamin that includes enough of the requirements for those that you don't need to worry about taking them separately (and this is true of some bariatric-specific vitamins)

I think you are going to need them all. Not sure about the D3 but I do take that separately as I was deficient in D

Yes I will be taking all three but I thought I was told if I order vitamins from bariatricpal and unjury. They have everything you need except calcium citrate.

Yes @catwomen7 thats what I was told. So im trying to figure out which bariatric specific vitamin to order.

I just had bypass on 3/3, and I ordered off of here. I take the Procare Multi, D3, B12, and the calcium citrate.
