The best thing I can recommend, from experience.. DON'T HAVE IT IN THE HOUSE!! Throw out all the Cookies & cakes. I had to. I had to get rid of all Snacks or foods that are bad and tempt me.. I can't resist temptation. That's why I had 2 chocolates last night, my parents keep that crap in their house.. an I went to visit and had 2.

I can see why all of your are doing well and I'm not. I can do well with my meals, it's my snack choices that are probably keeping me from losing. It's only 12 today and I've already had WAY too many chocolates. Yesterday, I got stuck trying to have a chicken sandwhich and got mad because it was so hard to eat so I threw it away and filled up on Cookies and cake. They go down so much easier. I'm so dissapointed in myself! I thought after $8,500 that the band would have helped me a little. Instead I'm still gaining.

Chicken sandwich? As in bread? Oh my, that's probably the issue.

What if you take your chicken from the sandwich and put it on a bit of lettuce with full fat dressing? When you are eating small portions a full fat dressing doesn't really matter. Or, make the sandwich like you would anyway just without bread. Like mayo? Mustard? Lettuce? Onions? Put it all on a plate and have at it. Don't deprive yourself of flavors, just carbs.

If you cut out ALL white carbs you would start shrinking and yep, that means giving up the chocolate.< /p>

If you start getting in bad habits this early (eating cookies instead of solid protein) this will always be a challenge for you. Get used to good habits today, deal with the fact that means giving up large quantities of foods you are used to and lose that weight!

Bread is hard for many of the most experienced bandsters to eat. Restriction takes getting used to. It's not easy and it doesn't happen overnight but giving up and reaching for cookies isn't the answer either.

What are some of your foods that you do tolerate well and are weight loss friendly?

Most of all, just be very careful about getting into bad habits this early. This is the time for getting used to new foods and new ways of doing things. Otherwise it will make the entire journey most difficult.

Daughter and I were banded on 12/12/07. solid food begins on the 26th. Thank you all for submitting your daily intakes. It seems that everything I see, looks better than what I am allowed. I see the Doctor for the first time since surgery on the 27th. Boy do I have a lot of questions! I think when it comes to food, flavor and texture are key.

Can't wait for solids, I'm getting tired of "mush."

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
