7 days Post Op and scared

I feel like I am already over doing it on how much I take in daily. I drink my protein shake in the morning and water threw out the day. My Dr. told me I could have cream or broth type soups so I will have on at lunch and one at dinner and it scares my that I am having to much for only being 7 days post.

Are you consuming the volumes specified in your post op diet guidelines? If you, then I wouldn't say you were consuming too much at all.

^^^^This! They do NOT want us challenging the size of our tools in the early days. That means they don't want that stomach to churn and grind any more than it has to. At 7 days, I was on 2-4 fl oz max

I only eat one small can for lunch and one small can for dinner. It takes me at least 30 minutes to eat it as well.

You are fine. Our heads play games with us. Enjoy the soup, it is a nice break from the protein drink and the water.

Tim - follow the guidelines from your nutritionist. Since your stomach is still sore and very scarred from the surgery, it may not be giving you signals that you are full (that should change once you get to solid food). If they recommend 4 oz (max) of liquids or purées at a time, only have 4 oz - don’t eat more just because you can (I went through the same with my gastric sleeve surgery back in 2017). Measure, weigh, and take no more than 20 minutes to eat - it will help you stay on target even if your eyes and stomach say otherwise.

Ok I will be more cautious in the amount. Thank you everyone for your support.

But I will say, with liquids you are most likely have not done any damage. It's just better to develop the habit of becoming satisfied with the correct program volume for your stage of healing and progression. :)

I used to love the muscle milk rtd but now..... It's leaving an almost sour aftertaste like forever. Anyone else's taste and smell change post op. Like my sense of smell especially around food is much more... Sensitive. Oops wrong thread sry.
