ShortBuddah710 got a reaction from catchthewind in PLEASE HELP the skeptic in me. Doesn't starving = eventual weight gain??I recently read, and can't find, an article about real longevity as it relates to a restricted calorie diet and how the body naturally thrives on calorie restrictions when the diet is based on nutrient density and whole foods mostly plant and protein based. Lots of talk about reversing chronic disease and inflammation metabolic syndrome and people living into their 90 and 100s and having health and energy using this method. Primarily low calorie and high nutrition density. Dr Joel Furman has some great books about this.

ShortBuddah710 reacted to DB in AZ in February 2020 Post-Op ThreadI'm 12 days out from surgery now and things are getting better and better everyday.I've been able to keep up with the protein requirements.I am definitely very tired of the commercial protein shakes. So I've been mostly making my own Using protein powder,Skim milk, and the Toranisyrups. I've also been eating a lot of pureed and water down soups.Haven't had a problem keeping up with fluids, they let us count what we drink in the protein drinks as part of the total for the day. My new stomach definitely lets me know when it's full. And I usually fill up at about 3 oz. Then I just take my time drinking whatever else I need to at that time.I'm glad to hear so many of you are doing well. Let's keep in touch

ShortBuddah710 reacted to ResaRoo in February 2020 Post-Op ThreadHello fellow Feb. 2020 weight loss peeps. Since it’s now March and we’ve all had our surgeries, I thought it would be nice to start a post-op thread. ? -
ShortBuddah710 reacted to Machalo in One Year After Surgery 2/20/19Thank you so much for this positive post thread! You are definitely an inspiration and I will do my best to follow your advice. I think the best thing of all will be to be in regular sized clothing again, and not have to go to the Plus Sized section, if the store even has one. I don't look at this as an easy fix, because I still have to put in the work to get there, but it will be the lightest I have been in 20 years and THAT is no joke! You look super great, by the way! Way to inspire others!

ShortBuddah710 reacted to Mbeasley in One Year After Surgery 2/20/19Great question, my response...
1. Remember why you had the surgery every day.
2. Stick to the plan
3. If you don't see the weight falling off, don’t sweat it because it will...soon
4. Be discipline and avoid an abundance of sugar and carbs.
5. Read labels if the card and sugar count is high push away from it. Again remember why you had the surgery it will help.
6. Remember, you can lose all the weight and get healthy and go right back to where you started. There are many people who have gained the weight back.
7. Remember, the surgery is just a tool, not a quick fix. You have to put in the work daily.
8. Drink your water!!!
I hope this helps and if you need to call me you are welcome yo do so.
