Well my journey started in January 2019. Since that time I have been having tests done (you name it-I’ve done it), and endless waiting. Seems like I get the list completed and they add something new I have to do. So this week is my pulmonary evaluation so I know I can make it through surgery. Then in September I have my nutritional classes which will finish all my pre op requirements. After that I was told I would finally have my surgery consult number two where surgery will be scheduled. Fingers crossed!! This has taken what seems like forever but I am patiently waiting to get my date. I continue to read all I can to keep from going crazy waiting. Look forward to talking with you.

Congrats! Think on how far you’ve come and how close you are!

I spent 8 months from the time I started (which doesn’t include the 6 months prior to that thinking, researching, and trying to decide if I wanted/needed to do this) and had my surgery 2-6-19.
I’m close to 7 months post-op and would do it over and over and over. Zero regrets!

Make sure you spend these last few weeks leading up to your big day prepping as much as you can.
Spending time here posting will be a great experience and you’ll learn a lot.

a lot of us had to go through all that. In retrospect, I'm glad I did - it gave me a lot of time to research this thing to death and to be super prepared when going into it.

You’re on your way!! Welcome. I’ve found all of the boards/posts to be very informative and most importantly non-judgemental.

Welcome. As the others have said, spend this time reading and asking any questions you may have so that you feel super ready come surgery day. Good luck :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
