I have also been hitting the gym hard, the past 6 weeks. My surgery is on July 31. My last session will be the 26th.

My personal trainer said, because of the low calorie pre-surgical diet we are going to change things the last week. I will find out what that is today. She does a lot of isometrics with me, so I think we are going to focus on flexibility, strength and balance and not fat burning. We'll see!

I am just going to walk and do some light exercise on my three day clear liquid diet, just prior to the surgery.

I don't think you have to slack off just because you'll be having surgery. But . . . that being said . . . you might feel differently or have less energy on your pre-op diet, so play it by ear.

I just returned from the gym. My personal trainer could tell I am not a deficit calorie diet after about 20 minutes. I lost steam. Usually we are increasing weights, but she did not today. She asked if I could have a small amount of carbs before workout. I am thinking I might have my veggies and Protein for Breakfast, and have the shakes for lunch and dinner. The veggies are carbs.

I started on June 24 and it is July 22 today. lost 6.5 pounds and 14" (6 points of measurement). I feel so strong. I am going to miss the gym after the surgery.

I started my journey/process 5 months ago and slowly started hitting the gym about 3 times a week. after a month of not much to show for I started going more (4-5 days). Now, I'm addicted. I haven't missed a day in 2 weeks and have been working out twice a day for most of those days. I have good days at the gym and bad. If it's a good day, you better believe I'm going to push myself to the limit, and on the rough days, I just do what I know I can handle. My thought is at least I showed up! my starting weight was 371 and I'm down to 310 as of yesterday. Still waiting on that surgery date, but I know it will be coming in the next two weeks, and I'll be in the gym every day until I have surgery. I feel like it's my chance to get my body strong and ready to be operated on. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like if I'm in the best shape I can be pre-operatively, I will recover much faster and get right back in gym quicker.

Congratulations, and good luck with your procedure!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
