So excited

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on Oct 23, 07.

I have lost 21 pounds so far tomorrow is my weekly weigh in, so I am sure I will see more results, and that number will go up.

My band is great, I hardly notice any pain at all.

I am not writing about the weight lost, I am writing about the way my body looks and feels. I was not lucky enough to be born with a pear shape, I am an apple. I used to liken myself to an egg walking on tooth picks. My body has been so out of balance, and not happy with me.

All the sudden, I'm waking up earlier, I've got a spring in my step. I feel fantastic. All this time, I cursed my body when I realized I should have appreciated it. I am so lucky that this body of mine didnt give out, have a heart attack, whatever while I was abusing it, and hating it.

i'm watching the weight loss, watching how fat is melting off of me, and for the first time, I am starting to feel like an attractive person.

Its kind of amazing.

Isn't it funny how great it is possible to feel? I just hit the 20 pound mark this morning and I had surgery on Oct 29th. I just started walking over the weekend am up to two miles (I do in-home walking to Leslie Sansone DVD's as I have 2 small kiddos and outdoor walking is non-productive with them along). It's so weird to see how much better your body can look and we are just getting started. And people are starting to notice the weight loss, which just adds a little more spring in your step. Great job on your weight loss and I loved reading your post!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
